This can be very worrying, especially if the engine light appears! Here at Jim Steel’s, we will carry out a Stage 1 Diagnostic to see what is at fault & advise from there. We will either clear the codes if we can & reset the light, if this cannot be done, we will provide you with an estimate for the next stage of a repair process sometimes “Fix & Go repair”

What do we mean by Fix & Go – this is where we have carried out a diagnostic and the system will not be reset. We are guided by the diagnosis equipment to what may be at fault and what will need to be replaced to complete the repair or indeed whether there is another issue which will not identify itself until the previous part is fitted and the system is retested hence Fix & Go.

You the customer are in total control of how far the diagnostic stage goes, we keep you informed at the end of each stage. We will only do what you authorise us to do
